Parade Day Road Closures

Baltimore City has just posted its official traffic advisory on Parade Day road closures and parking restrictions.   You can access it at the following link:

http://content.govdelivery.com/bulletins/gd/MDBALT-6f91fa

Please note that Parade Day road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect from as early as 9:00 a.m. EDT on Parade Day. Between 12:00 noon and 5:00 p.m., people should expect substantial traffic congestion and considerable delays in the downtown area, which will not abate until after the conclusion of the Parade.

The sooner you get downtown for the Parade, the lesser your chances of being stuck in traffic. Before you head downtown, please check the City’s website, http://www.baltimorecity.gov/Government/AgenciesDepartments/Transportation/TrafficAdvisories.aspx, for any updates to the traffic advisory!

Since the Parade route is more than a mile long, the availability of parking varies depending on the location from which you plan to view the Parade. For further info on downtown parking options, check the Baltimore City Parking Authority’s website, http://www.baltimorecity.gov/Government/QuasiAgencies/ParkingAuthority.aspx. You may also want to check the Visit Baltimore website at http://baltimore.org for additional suggestions.

Remember, too, that we will return to Daylight Savings Time on Parade Day this year. Our friends should all set their clocks ahead the night before, or they might miss out on all the fun!

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
